Veterans Day

Today we celebrate Veterans Day, the first without a living combat veteran from the war (WWI) that spawned this date.  When on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11month of the year 1918 the guns fell silent on the Western Front the Entente and its allies and the Germans took time to consider the costs of the War to End All Wars.  Unfortunately for man, it was not the War to End All Wars.  But fortunately for us all, there are men and women who have answered, and who will answer, the call to service--commitment to defense of their fellow citizens, commitment to defense of ideals, and yes, commitment to fulfilling the orders of civilian government even when they make no sense.

Mrs. Two Cents, the young two cents, and I say thank you.
