Arab Spring Back to the Past

Well, fall has come to the northern hemisphere and I believe that a fall has come to the Arab Spring.  Oh how quick we were to jump for joy when social networking led to demonstrations and falling authoritarian regimes.  But what has replaced these regimes?  A military junta in Egypt that promises change while attacking Christians.  Nothing of any real movement toward liberty and democracy in Tunisia.  Yemen is still ruled by a corrupt government.  No changes in the gulf states.  In Syria the government response has been a brutal military crackdown.  As I have posted in the past regarding these events, just because they pulled down the existing stated did not mean that those who come to power desire to change anything other than the names of those in control.  Wish this report were better, but my two cents worth says at this point in time that the Arab Spring has sprung back to the past with governments and practices that are reminiscent of what existed last fall.
