Okay, who wins the championship tonight based on state politician comparisons?
Current Governor:
Alabama: Robert Bentley
--Graduate of University of Alabama and University of Alabama School of Medicine
--served in U.S. Air Force during Vietnam (but hey he was a doctor and served stateside)
--he is a dermatologist
--from his website: "He is a pro-life, pro-marriage, and pro-second amendment conservative who believes in smaller and more limited government."
Louisiana: Bobby Jindal
--graduate of Brown University and attended Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar
--entire adult life spent as a politician working for Louisiana DHH, U.S. DHHS, Representative from District 1 of Louisiana, Governor of Louisiana since 2008
Edge: Alabama, anyone who has spent their entire life as a politician is a loser.
Most Famous (infamous) Governor:
Alabama: George Wallace
--"In the name of the greatest people that have ever trod this earth, I draw the line in the dust and toss the gauntlet before the feet of tyranny, and I say segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever."
Louisiana: Huey Long
--The Kingfish
Edge: got go with Huey here, Louisiana has a poor record of politics, but Huey was at least real popular (everywhere that is but the U.S. Senate)
Current State of Affairs:
Alabama
--just introduced strict immigration laws (hey, if you are not in the state/country illegally you have nothing to worry about, unless of course you work for a foreign auto manufacturer and forget to carry your identification documents with you while you are breaking traffic laws in Birmingham).
--Birmingham, the state capitol exists in a county that is declaring bankruptcy.
Louisiana
--Jindal elected to serve second term
--Jindal the 3rd highest office holder in National Governor's Association (title: Dinner Chair)
Edge: gotta go with Bama here, things are just really dull in Louisiana right now.
So, if we look at political figures that head the states, the edge goes to BAMA.
ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!
